Clean Master Lite (Boost) is a Clean Master version designed specifically for low-end phones.

Developer Cheetah Mobile makes the Clean Master app as a tool for keeping your Android smartphones and tablets running well. It takes advantage of the resources that modern devices provide, but that, of course, presents problems with older and low-spec devices. Enter Clean Master Lite. This app is designed to be less resource-intensive but still provide antivirus protection, junk file cleaning, battery saving capabilities and much more.

The antivirus protection safeguards your device against the malicious software that’s becoming more prevalent and sophisticated on the Android platform. It even focuses on the privacy angle and can inspect that software pre-installed on your device in order to ensure that it’s not comprising your sensitive information. In defending against viruses, trojans, rogue programs and more, it can detect them and remove them, and virus definition updates are free in order to keep the protection current.

The boost component is designed to make your phone run faster and in a more stable manner. This is less about optimizing and more about avoiding the decline in performance that can occur over time as processes are left running, data is abandoned in memory and so forth. It can boost apps for better load times and more streamlined operation, but it can also free memory, reclaim storage, end abandoned processes and so forth, and that can put an end to lagging and freezing.

The battery saver feature offers a one-tap means of analyzing your current battery usage. It can also find apps and other processes that are running and force them to end. If you prefer a more hands-on approach, you can choose to delete certain categories or even particular files.

Clean Master Lite is advertising-supported software. We would like a pay option, but the ads are small and discreet, and there doesn’t seem to be a performance hit. The Lite version is an excellent option if it’s all your device can handle. However, the full Clean Master app is an even more feature-rich toolbox that can lock apps, protect against overcharging and much more.
